A COLOR STORY

Personal projects are such gifts.  It's rare that I am actually able to complete them, so when I do, it is extremely fulfilling.  I joined a group of photographers in a color project.  Each month, a color is chosen, and we are challenged to put together twelve images that showcase the given color.  So this is where I will share my ongoing Color Story.  I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy capturing them and tying them together.  It's so much fun!  To see more color stories from the other photographers I have joined on this journey, check out #colorstorycollab on Facebook and Instagram!

December was Silver, and I almost skipped it because I'm starting to feel like my stories are starting to blur together.  Also, when I look at my story this month, it doesn't scream, "SILVER!" to me.  However, this is a learning adventure, and I can't move forward if I don't know where I've been...so I have decided to post.  Looking forward to January! :)

November was Brown, and I. Love. Brown.  My sweet, sweet loves are full of chocolatey brown with their dark, sparkly eyes and wild hair.  My chocolate addiction is brown, as is my new love of growing herbs in my own kitchen.  Brown is rich and warm and comfortable…everything about November screams brown, and it might just be my favorite color.  Today, anyway.

October is ORANGE!  I couldn't resist doing so many outdoor shots of the Fall leaves.  It is my absolute favorite time of the year, and the main reason I don't think I could live anywhere else.  Ohio is where I was born, and although I have tried my hardest to convince myself I should live elsewhere, I have come to appreciate my home.  I feel blessed to be able to raise my family here, and I look forward to many more orange seasons ahead.

September brings the color black (yes, I know black isn't truly a color), and this was a fun one for me because I have an obsession with black!  I don't know why, but it's beautiful when it stands alone, and it is such a team player when it helps all the other colors really stand out.  It's one of my favorites.  And!  What fun the end of the month was when I could sneak in some Halloween decorations! ;)

August 2015 was Gold.  This is the first month that I was able to get twelve images in.  I am so surprised at the results because it was difficult to find gold!  And then once I found it, there was this struggle of, "is this gold?  Yellow?  Brown? Beige?"  But I am pleased with the results, and I am proud to tell my Gold Story.

RED!  July 2015 was red, and I had tons of fun with this one!  There is red ALL OVER my life, so it was fun determining which images to include.  You would think I could get all twelve in here, but I was busy chasing around my little rug rats and enjoying the summer.  I would choose them any day! :)

Blue was my very first attempt in June.  I only was able to get 9 photos in, and I was still getting the feel for the project.  I just love those chubby fingers, though! :)  Also, what parent of a five-year-old girl DOESN'T have naked dolls all over the house?!   Such sweet memories in this month!
